As our nation works to recover from the fallout of the pandemic, health care leaders and all levels of government need to pay particular attention to helping our burned-out nurses recover. I’d like to reiterate that when supported, ICTs are more than capable and will get the job done with our unique backgrounds, skillsets, and experiences. Taccara Durrett, a registered nurse in Connecticut, said there’s a unfortunate cycle of burnout among nurses that trickles down. RN Registered Nurse, Up to $41
They are the gateway between patients and physicians and are the voice for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Nurses hold the power to make or break a patient’s day and can bring happiness into a situation where it seems only sadness will prevail. Being a nurse is a huge responsibility but with that comes huge rewards and personal satisfaction in helping someone who is in need and can not help themselves. Many begin the process with entry-level nursing options but aspire to continue their education and climb the ranks within the nursing field. The career path you’re interested in pursuing will typically dictate the type of nursing degree you’ll need. Nursing programs include classroom instruction as well as clinical experience. Clinical training allows you to gain hands-on knowledge, ask questions in real-life scenarios and connect with nurses.

It was very clear to me from the outset that my military skills and training were being recognized in ways that they weren’t elsewhere . Address barriers to treatment, such as finances, housing, transportation, childcare, or prescription costs.
Instead of learning from theses experienced nurses, younger nurses now are now getting only a few weeks of training before being “thrown” in to work on their own. While not all working-class jobs will be safe from automation — retail workers, for instance, do not have a rosy outlook — there has been improvement across the board for lower-income workers. The initial shock of the pandemic hit low-wage workers the hardest, but the recovery since has been more auspicious. Wages have grown nearly three times as fast as in any other recovery period. The wages of the lowest 10th percentile of the workforce — earning an average of $12.50 an hour — grew only 3.9% from 2009 to 2017.
Once you become an RN and start employment perhaps you’ll consider continuing your education further. Maybe you’ll increase your salary with a high-paying RN specialty such as an advanced practice RN specialty.
